You're stuck behind cold bars, but the only way out is your own two hands and a stubborn will. Dig out of Prison throws you into a gritty 3D simulation where every tunnel you carve could be the last chance at freedom. Trade scraps for better tools, dodge guards, and watch the toilet‑paper economy explode. One wrong move and the whole cellblock snaps shut. Master the grind, and the exit gate swings wide.
Mechanics
The control scheme is stripped down to the essentials so you can focus on the grind. Move, jump, dig, and interact without fumbling through menus.

Strategy
Success isn’t about raw speed; it’s about timing and resource management. Start by scouting the yard for hidden Mine spots – loose soil and broken pipes give you extra dig power. Upgrade your spoon into a makeshift shovel using the scrap you trade with fellow inmates. Each upgrade reduces stamina loss, letting you tunnel longer before the guard patrols reset.
Keep an eye on the 3D map. The game’s Simulation layer tracks guard sightlines in real time. Plot routes that stay out of their cones of vision. When a guard loiters near a tunnel entrance, hit the Rope underground button and hide your tracks. The more you trade toilet paper for information, the better you’ll predict their patterns.
Don’t ignore the garage. It houses a rusty crane that can lift heavy debris, opening shortcuts to the outer fence. Use E to interact with the garage elements, then pull the lever with X for a burst of speed. Remember: every extra action you unlock shortens the total escape window.
